ICTC Summer Update Meeting
VISTA member and Summer Associates met at Indian Capital Technology Center. Guest speakers, Glynnis Hutchinson, Jill Zimmer, Kellie Hawkins, and Amy Barrett gave updates and resources available to students in the area. The meeting was a wonderful opportunity for area counselors and summer associates to share and learn from each other.
Healthy Futures Health Agencies Meeting
VISTA Healthy Futures facilitated a meeting of health agencies and resourced providers from Sequoyah County. Partners attending the meeting represented the following agencies: People Inc, OSU Extension-Sequoyah County, Cherokee Nation, Sallisaw NOW Coalition, Red Cross, Sallisaw Health and Wellness Center, Sequoyah County Health Department, and CREOKS Behavioral Health.
Cherokee Nation Public Health Mobile Vaccine Unit
Cherokee Nation Public Health brought their mobile unit to Sallisaw Middle School for a vaccine event on August 6-7! Opportunities like this make important health services more accessible to our students and families!
Concurrent Enrollment Night
VISTA members Clifta Fugett, Nan Stites, and Debbie Phillips attended Carl Albert State College's Concurrent Enrollment presentation led by Stephanie Qualls at Muldrow Public Schools. The session was joined by VISTA Summer Associates and school counselors, Renee Claborn and April Obregon.
